Our mission at Bone Dry Dog Coatz is to supply our customers with well designed durable, top quality dog coats, collars leads & beds made from top quality materials. We offer each customer the opportunity too fully customise their order to create a unique coat, collar, lead or bed that is bespoke to them Our Dog Coats & Collars are all made to measure and are tailored to be a snug fit, no matter what shape or breed your dog is. Our Story so far at Bone Dry Dog Coatz. After making do with poorly designed off the peg coats and collars for several years, that never fitted our huge Hounds properly, and after searching in vain to find well designed coats & collars for them. We decided to develop our own designs, specifically tailored to fit like a glove.

Our quest started when we adopted a woolly coated Scottish Deerhound called Becky. Her coat was like fine wool and it could take up to 5 hours for her to dry even after a good toweling down, as she aged she became progressivley stiffer, so our first prototype coat was made for her. We sourced the best waterproof fabric available which is fully breathable, light in weight & has 4 way stretch. We came up with a design to allow her a full range of movement whilst keeping her back, belly, hips & major joints dry, at the same time we built in high visibility stripes so we could see her on the darkest nights.

We then adopted our second Irish Wolfhound Merlin who suffers from terrible skin allergys, the wet & dirt always aggrevated his condition badly so we had to minimise wetness and toweling him dry as this only made things even worse.

Soon all our pack had tailor made coats. The coats not only keep them dry, its cuts down on smelly wet dog odours, dirt bought into the house and it saves approx half and hour of hosing and toweling down twice a day, plus a washing machine full of large dog towels every time we walked them in bad weather.

After extensive research and testing on our own hounds we are proud to offer what we think is the best Dog Coat on the market. We have taken a lot of time & effort to ensure Safety, Comfort, Style and Complete Weather Protection are built into every coat we make, we made our dog coats the best because they were made and designed for our own dogs.

We soon started to make Fancy Fabric Collars, Leather Collars & Leads for them as we just could not find anything appropriate for thier size or stature, and our hounds deserve the best... we were soon inundated with requests from other dog walkers asking if we could make similar items for them. We now offer a unique comprehensive range of bespoke designs suitable for all breeds. Our Fancy Fabric & Leather Collars are supper strong... they have to be !!, all our products are thouroughly tested by our 14 stone Irish Wolfhound Genghis. He has snapped several very sturdy chain leads and shop bought collars but has never damaged one of our collars or leads.

Finally we added Waterproof Dog Beds to our products range, again to help our allergy prone Irish Wolfhound 'Merlin' and our dirt and moisture magnet woolly coated Scottish Deerhound 'Becky'. Merlin is badly affected by dust mites and house dust generally, wetness usually aggrevates the condition. We select an extemelly durable & waterproof material called Wiltex Nylon, its 100% waterproof, dust & dirt just wont stick to it, so it just dries and can be easily brushed or shaken off. The surface can be easily dried so does not stay damp, because of the waterproof fabrics weave and inner membrane, the inner will not get smelly or allow your bed to fill up with dust, the fabric also has an extremelly high resistance to flea larve. Most of the shop bought dog beds we have had have allways gone lumpy and flat quite quickly, and the inners bunch up if you try to wash them. Our inner is made from four layers of human grade hollow fibre quilting which is stitched down, this forms an 18cm thick matress which cannot move or bunch up. Perfect for our hugh hounds who weigh between 8 and 14 stones each. Misson accompished a tough durable waterproof dog bed with high hypoallergenic propertys which is easy to clean, dry & maintain which is luxuriously filled with comfy mattress. Our hounds also needed giant sized beds to accomadate their hugh size and weight. We now make beds for the smallest to the largest of breeds.

In 2008 we launched our easier to use new look web site and are now busier than ever offering our customers well designed bespoke quality coats, collars, leads & beds for discerning owners and their dogs.....

We are a small family run business, all our orders are made on site and we do not out source any of our orders.
